TALKING BASED SUPPORT

TOOLKIT INTRODUCTORY PRESENTATION

EMBRACE HE is an Erasmus+ project specially designed to help address problems of mental health and lack of wellbeing in students in Higher Education (HE). In this line, this toolkit has been designed to inspire and support HEIs in their active role in improving and supporting students’ mental health and well-being. The toolkit focuses on ”talking-based support”, whereby good practices associated with talking support in the university context are shared. In this regard, successful activities and programmes in universities and other institutions, have been collected in order to illustrate direct examples of how talking-based support can be implemented in universities, and how such activities and programmes have a positive impact on students’ mental health. Support Programmes, Counselling Services and Pastoral Care initiatives developed in different organizations are presented.

As a summary, this toolkit contains 1 literature review presented as a toolkit guideline, 5 video lectures related to talking-based support (Social Mentoring in HE, Mental Health Peer Support, Counselling Services in HE, Inclusive Practices in Career Guidance and Pastoral Care) and 15 examples of different good practices about support programmes, counselling services and pastoral care in HE, presented through infographics and short videos.
