05 Apr Open Access Website Resource and Database of Good HE Practice for Student Wellbeing and Mental Health Support
The open access education resource (website) is developed as a growing collection of training toolkits and other valuable resources for HE staff, for training in and work with student wellbeing support issues.
Open access education resource is a fully search-able database of good practices in working in this field, which will be drawn from across Europe, during our earlier comparative report and then later from information communicated with us from website users, from academic, practitioner and grey literature. In addition, the website is containing a standard set of templates and offer building blocks for individuals and groups within the HE sector to enable them to run their own workshops, courses and develop plans for implementation of the ideas contained in the toolkits and so forth, within their own institutions.
The primary target group for the website is HE staff from a range of teaching and learning, managerial and support backgrounds but there are other professional beneficiaries who will find this resource useful, such as youth workers, FE and higher school teachers and even NGOs that work with young people.
This is an open access website that will house a host of
relevant materials, not just the toolkits.
This website can be seen as a hub and pivot point for HEIstaff, but also wider groups working with youth generally and generically or representing their educational interests. As an open resource for those interested in mental wellbeing of young people, we would expect the site to attract interested parties, such as Students Union staff, social workers, college (non HE level) lecturers, school staff working with Advanced or Matura level students, youth workers and youth organisations and NGO’s that work with young people generally. All of these groups and individuals will be able to sign up to the site and utilise the resources therein.
